"They said depression is just an excuse for the weaks to pretend that they are sick. When I first heard about it, I really wanted to use my death to prove that I AM SICK."
"Death may bring them a more peaceful life," said Hana, "I will not stop them for killing themselves, as everyone has free will and I should respect their choices; but of cause I don't wanna lose them."
The photo sequence is collaborated with Hana(@soulc.am). It is about committed suicide, hypnotic abuse, depression etc.
However, my lover was a naive guy who never face obstacles, like a flower which grown up in a greenhouse. Therefore, he did not understand my pain.
We used dry daisy, syrup and ice cube to represent my attitude towards love. As the flower language of daisy is "a silent giver", I usually treat someone gently in my action.
This is a photo sequence collaborated with Allison (@all_is_on___).
"They say eyes never lie but yours did."
"I tried, tried so hard to numb myself. Why am I still hurting?"
She understood the commitments of her boyfriend were illusionary, but she still wanted to reveal the true self to him.
She was actually pretended to be hyper, as she wanted to blend in with her friends.
The art direction and makeup were inspired by Euphoria. In the picture, the girl was taking the LSD at the party.
This is a photo sequence collaborated with Sellina Cheung(@selc). It is about friendship, love, drugs of a teenager's struggle.
This is a linear photo sequence which represents the idea of the relationship between human activities and marine pollution. Originally, when the cycle of life was still balanced, humans and fishes were able to coexist. However, human, driven by their nature of greed and arrogance as the top predators of the food chain, start overfishing from the sea to satisfy their eternal hunger.
In addition, heavy metals, petroleum, different kinds of chemical compounds along with other manufacturing wastes are disposed into the ocean as a result of industrialization and economic development. With such foolish actions, the living environment of marine lives has been seriously damaged. Yet humans turn a blind eye onto these and ignore the outcome of their actions.
Though humans also suffer from the pollution as their sight has been obstructed by the plastic blindfold, they still do nothing to save the ocean, at least not until its worst condition as the plastic blindfold is still transparent enough to let the light through. As a matter of course, fishes are largely killed due to the intake of huge amount of microplastics.
As the microplastics will be accumulated and amplified progressively throughout the entire food chain, humans, with the same fate of the fishes, inevitably be poisoned after consuming the microplastics from the contaminated fishes. Eventually, with the extinction of humans and other lives, such eco-nightmare withers the entire ocean and turns the Earth into a complete wasteland.
This is my photography series "Hazards Behind the Gorgeous". In this picture, I would like to create a contrast. I would like the audience to think about the development of rural and urban area. Is it suitable for using only one street light to light up the whole area, or use those colorful, dazzling billboard to catch the eyes for tourists and citizens, but creates light pollution? How to strike a balance between them?
If you draw the curtain, lights could still shine through the windows, so the problem is hard to prevent: either you wait the light to turn off, or complain to the environmental protection department. In fact, the government has launched a voluntary scheme which called "Charter on External Lighting", and there are rewards like stickers or certificates for those who joined the programme. But since it is voluntary and the prizes are not so attractive, the phenomenon would still occurs.
It is interesting that the whole gate has been covered by those colorful commercials for rent, and the mystery baskets placed on the floor. However, the pedestrian just holding up her umbrella and focuses on her mobile phone.
This is my photography project "Sheung Wan". The tranquility in PMQ has a high contrast with tenement houses around them. Is it an utopia for Hong Kongers to relax, or just escaping for the reality? It seems that we are living in a materialistic prison.
The street keeps the old 60s' of Hong Kong, and the famous movie "Echoes of the Rainbow" was also taken place here.
If you have to unlock a rusted lock, would it destroy itself?
It is a very traditional shanghai barber shop which I found accidentally in the street corner.
In the era of advanced information technology, how long have you not tried to chat with your friends face to face?
Such a cute puppy we met on the street in coincidence.
There are various of wall paintings in Sheung Wan, which seems that I have entered an art exhibition requiring no admission fee and no time limit.
The shop owners in Sheung Wan are mostly supportive to graffiti artist and willing to borrow their stores' walls for them to create their own masterpieces.
A cat is cleaning itself.
Man Mo Temple is mainly for the worship of Man Cheong (God of Literature) and Mo Tai (God of Martial Arts). Therefore, it is popular for students to pray for their successful in examinations. (I also made a wish there of getting 3 or higher GPA scores, and it came true!)
The gracious gentleman impressed me since he mistook me as a tourist which came from Japan. Unlike others, he started using English to communicate with me and welcomed me to take more pictures. In the end, I mentioned I was local and we both chitchatted with laughter, which made me felt the hospitality of Hong Kong people.
